Look at the great package that I got from Ansley. My note of gratitute and bragging picture are late because I recd her package the day before going out of town for an eight-day business trip (see my blog).

However, my appreciation is on-going! THREE, count 'em, three, cloths; lots of chocolate; hand lotion; a great note card; spa socks; and scented soaps. LOVE it all!

I have been spoiled! Look at what my secret pal, Elaine of Kim-Chi Crafts, sent me for the Winter Wonderland Swap:

Two exquisitely crocheted items: The lilac one is a trivet/potholder and the white one's a washcloth.
A cute card that features a spinning (literally!) sheep on the front and a lovely note inside.
Two notebooks from a Korean Stationary store in LA called Morning Glory. If you've ever seen either Korean or Japanese stationary (and not just Hello Kitty) you'll understand how cute and funny they can be. There is also a folder with a blue bear and matching blue bear page markers. Elaine felt it was best that I head back to school with some *serious* supplies!
And finally some chamomile tea to calm me down at the end of some of my more hectic days!

Thanks Lisa, for the package. I got it last week but was out of town and haven't had time to post until now. I also can't find my camera (where did those darn kids put it?!), so I can't post a picture of it. But, Lisa sent me two fun dishclothes, a blue and white ballband, and a bright orange, red, and yellow varigated one, some gum, some yummy smelling body wash, a skein of Peaches N' Cream, and a Dr. Pepper coupon. Thank You Toni! I already e-mailed Toni to thank her for my Winter Wonderland Swap package which arrived today, but I wanted to show it off on the blog too. She made me two of the softest washcloths! They are machine knit and made with baby terry, one in a ballband pattern and the other like a baby genius burp cloth. As I told her, they will become face cloths, as they are just too soft for dishcloths! But that was not all. She also sent a ball of white Sugar n' Cream cotton yarn, a magnetic note pad, and some beautiful handmade earrings and stitch holders. Thank you so much Toni.

I got my pretty package today! This is my first swap so I was quite excited! And impressed!

One super soft, pretty sky-blue and white snowflake illusion dishcloth. (My cat tried to claim it within minutes of me taking it out o.O! We compromised, I got the dishcloth, she got to sleep on my scarf.) A pretty glass mirror ornament, a knit jacket ornament, a skein of purple-tan-gold Berroco Cotton Twist, vellum gift tags, and the cutest little shell star charms.
I'm already thinking the charms could perhaps be used as markers for the Kiri shawl I'm working on. =)

Thank you, Dawn! I was so excited to receive my box yesterday! It's a party in a box :) I received a very cute card (on left), some kitty wrapping paper, a little cotton bag with nativity scene, "catnip bubbles," mandarin tea, fun New Year's beads and tiara, and chocolate espresso beans in a little stocking! Best of all, she sent two great dish/washcloths--one is a cute angel, and THREE balls of SnC yarn in the greatest colors!! Also on top of the angel are some very pretty stitch markers in a red-opalescent color!

I got my swap package yesterday from Megan. I had said that I wanted cloths in bright colors to brighten up the dark dreary days of winter. She sent me a package with a sunny beach theme, complete with sea shells. Also there are stich markers, green tea (my favorite), honey sticks, and chocolate.

I got my package today & I LOVE it - it is all wonderful. Amazing. She sent me 2 gorgeous washcloths - the blue one has a snowman & the white one has snowflakes or maybe a flower design - it's pretty. Pretty. And a ball of hand-dyed yarn - she dyed it with Kool-Aid - it's green & blue & oh so fun. I've been wanting to try my hand at dyeing, I actually have the same yarn she sent me, I may try my hand at Glampyre's One Skein Wonder. I believe I found her post about the dyeing here. Mine is called Lily Pond - her pictures are better than mine. She made me stitch markers - super exciting. One set spells out my name & a peace sign (yay) and the other one has the pretty blue & green & purple beads. Also included - some Trader Joe's Peppermint Pure Castile Soap - this stuff smells delicious - some delicious Frango mint chocolates - yum and this super-cute snow-man candle holder. Last night when I got home, there was a box waiting for me. From Mary in Minnesota. Thanks a bunch Mary. What a nice surprise to get the SnB page a day calendar, chocolates...mmm, chocolate...and two round cloths in a really cool pattern. Here's a few photos. Both cloths are a pretty light blue, the larger one has silver in it. Thank you so much, Mary. This was my first swap and I have to say, I like it. My pal should be getting her box any day now. Hope she likes it as much as I like mine!

Wow-O-wow! I got the egg cozy! Complete with initial just for me! Yayayayay! And chocolate....and dishcloths!! I promise a real post on my blog later, maybe tomorrow (time and stress levels willing), but I just had to say thank you so much to (possibly blogless) Alice! I love them, especially the ballband cloth - I just love the way the colors work with each other!

Santa just keeps coming to my door!! Today I received my package from Joni & what a wonderful swap pal she is! She made 2 gorgeous cloths, sent 2 ornaments & a hank of Euroflax in the most beautiful blue/green (it's less blue in person).

I had to put the ornaments high up on the tree b/c my 2 yr old wouldn't leave them alone!

Thanks again Joni---I love it all & feel very spoiled today!

Debi (twominions) is an angel and sent me a beautiful package filled with all sorts of goodies. She sent two dishcloths, a lovely lace pattern in a peach color and the snowflake illusion cloth (which I couldn't get a picture to show off the snowflake pattern). She also included a star coaster in Christmas colors, the cutes felted mini bag with a cat ornament inside some Fancy Feet Soap from Biker B’s Homemade Soap and a Seattle tote since lives in Washington state. I am overwhelmed with her generosity.

I recieved my package today! Thanks Kristine, the dish rags rock!
I pulled this out of the box and it was wrapped so pretty! I saved the ribbon. :P

Inside were 2 packages of mint cocoa mix, a bendy snowman, 4 stitch markers that spell Knit, 2 cute pepermint dishcloths, and a ball of peppermint Peaches and Creme, all nestled inside of a perfect for cereal red bowl. This was such a sweet package! I love the cloths, and can't stand to use them for nasty dishes.

I've been a little busy with the end of the year things, but it is getting better and then last night, we had a (scheduled) power outage. Since I've been a little nocturnal lately, I just sat around and knitted in the candlelight. Great fun. haha.

I received the most wonderful package yesterday!!! We came home from my husband's Christmas party; and there was a package in the front door; it was from my partner - Laurie
I received a lovely note from Laurie, 2 dishcloths: the ever popular snowflake illusion in Spartan green and white, and a MasonDixon in Spartan green. (Can't see this one so well, it is sitting on my Green countertop). Also, some beautiful green stitch markers, a pound of Starbucks special Holiday blend, a sock calendar and Magic stripe yarn (now I have no excuse for not making socks) . Thank you so much Laurie!!!

Now I have to get on the ball and send my package.

I've been keeping up with everyone's post and felt like such a loser...I hadn't started yet! So many projects...so little time. But I finally put down my grandma's socks (sorry, Grami) and am halfway through my first project for my partner. She gave some pretty specific requests for colors, so I can't post pictures yet. It's gonna look great. I am terrible with keeping secrets about gifts. It's killing me. But I hope to send her box off next week. Then I can show you what I made.

You are looking at a classic ball-band dishcloth & Mason-Dixon hexagonal dishcloth.
I'm a grad student & this past weekend I had to re-calibrate my instrument which essentially means pushing a button every 5 minutes for about 12 hours so I got both of these done - the hexagonal one was during my oxygen calibration & the ballband one was during the carbon dioxide. I just need to find a few little extras to throw in & these will be shipped off to my pal.

Also, could someone tell me how to get that snowflake pattern? I'd like to try the illusion knitting. In the magknits that just came out in the last week or so (I just found it today), there is an illusion scarf that looks fun.

Here's my snowflake illusion washcloth.
I've been in touch with both my upstream (Hi Toni!) and downstream (that's a secret) pals and I'm working on another washcloth in a snowdrop lace pattern...but I have had to frog it twice UGGH! If it was for me, I would say what's one little mistake, it's just a washcloth. But when it is for someone else, well, you really don't want any mistakes in it! I'll post a picture when (if) I get it right.

I've finished my partner's cloth & now have the pleasure of collecting yummy goodies for her "puffy".

I want to thank Holly & Tracey for putting this together. Maybe it's the holidays, maybe it's the fun I had with the last swap but I've been so looking forward to this one!!

Well, welcome to our new swap! We're calling it the Winter Wonderland Swap. We're also still going with the dishcloth theme, however it does not have to be any specific dish cloth, any will be fine. Also, please take note that we aren't really focusing on a holiday, but winter as a whole. If your pal happens to love Christmas, Thanksgiving, Hannakuh, etc, then that's great, but please don't feel as if you have to go with that. There are lots of themes that can go with winter, and we don't want anyone to feel left out because of not celebrating a holiday, or celebrating a different holiday, or what not.

That being said, here are the details:

Blog address (although having a blog is NOT required, unless you want to make posts on this blog)
Snail mail address
Allergies
Do you smoke?
Do you have pets?
Favorite winter colors?
Favorite holiday goodie (treats, candy, non edibles, etc can go here)

Can you be an angel? (please specify if you can also be an international angel)

The deadline for which to send out your package will be January 8, 2007. That way you don't feel rushed to get everything out and in the mail during the huge rush or anything like that.
